Am I the only one who thinks the following..?

1. %26quot;Racism%26quot; as a concept is just a cheap way of changing our way of life and/or getting one(s) own way.

2. Everybody is easily offended and our PC way of life has served only to wrap people in cotton wool and render them incapable of speaking their own minds.

3. Authority is no longer respected and youth culture, gun and knife crime are rife.

4. The binge drinking culture is disgusting and dangerous.

5. People have lost respect for themselves. Promiscuity is at an all time high and marriage vows are easily broken. Divorce is on the up (if not up already!) and people don%26#039;t really think about making mistakes. Marriage appears to be a means of %26quot;having a nice big day%26quot; and we can consider the possibilities later. The result of promiscuity sometimes ends in abortion or unwanted babies that are put off for adoption.

6. People are becoming lazy and have a 9-5 mentality. Nobody cares about other people anymore and nobody goes out of their way i.e. to help the elderly.

7. Nobody has any self-respect when it comes to their way of life i.e. nobody votes for anyone and uses the excuse that they know nothing about politics. The truth is, they just can%26#039;t be assed to vote or find out the information for themselves and as long as their alright, who cares who%26#039;s in power? They%26#039;re quick enough to criticize when things go wrong though.

8. Everything is getting impersonal. We have automated machines instead of being able to speak to someone. Everyone has to follow scripts and doesn%26#039;t really know what%26#039;s going on and the worst is, customers are getting ruder and ruder because they feel that you are some sort of robot and know all the answers

Does anyone else get angry with this?|||That%26#039;s a lot of speaking in absolutes. I don%26#039;t feel life is so black and white, so here%26#039;s my two cents:

1. Racism is a terrible thing, but so is crying wolf to get one%26#039;s own way. To use race as any type of weapon is to cheapen one%26#039;s heritage into an excuse and insulting to the entire race.

2. Political Correctness is misunderstood and abused. The people with such fragile feelings were never polite in the first place and only bring up PC when it suits their needs. However, the movement has produced a lot more fairness in the workplace that etiquette was already working to cover, so it has it%26#039;s good points.

3. Crime has always been rife, that%26#039;s not new. And youth has always rebelled. That%26#039;s not new either. What is new is that parents now let their kids get away with bad behavior claiming that their little darlings are %26quot;expressing themselves%26quot; and ignoring that they are actually learning how to be little hellians.

4. Binge drinking has always existed, and yes, it%26#039;s sad.

5. Promiscuity is actually about the same as ever, it%26#039;s just talked about more now. Marriages end in divorce more now because divorce is more widely accepted than it%26#039;s ever been and people rush into marriage thinking that %26quot;all we need is love%26quot; without working out the practicalities.

6. I despise the 9-5 wage slavery that people sell themselves into. I believe a change will come about in the future once people suddenly wake up from this zombie-like state, but it%26#039;s going to be a while.

7. People are so disenchanted with the government because they expect unrealistic things. Mass media tells us what we want to hear because if not, their ratings go down. Politicians have always been filthy, but now they%26#039;re applauded for whoever has the best PR campaign. The difference is that we used to admit that they had dirty personal lives, but didn%26#039;t care so long as they did their job well. Now everyone cares about their personal affairs, which they use as a cover for dirty politics. A tad backward.

8. I disagree, everything is getting too personal. Because the country here has turned into one big Dr. Phil tell-all confessional, people now feel that even the most intimate personal details are public news. And because everyone%26#039;s private info is now public, none of it is significant. It%26#039;s overdose which makes it irrelevant to the point where the most scandalous private of my secrets wouldn%26#039;t even raise an eyebrow. So yes, in a way, it is impersonal because it is too public.

:)|||I have to agree with you 100% on this, especially our lax attitude to crime in general. I believe there should be a zero tolerance policy towards crime, of any nature. Mind you, the huge crime figures are linked to other aspects of your statement, family values eroded, no self-respect, no respect for anyone else etc.|||Life is way to short for me to worry about other peoples kids and what they are doing. As long as I focus on myself and my family and how we are that is my concern. Society has shifted from when I was a child so I appreciate not knowing what some people are up to.

Everything you said is true but will only make me crazy if I spent too much time on thought of how our society has become.|||Nailed it!
